In 1942, the United States launched a top-secret project with the sole aim of developing the world’s first atomic bomb. Known as the Manhattan Project, the research and development team was comprised of the greatest minds in science.
…and creating the most destructive force humanity has ever known.
Dr. Robert Wilson was part of the project, which culminated in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. Like several of his colleagues he was disillusioned by how the technology was applied.
Then dedicating your life to healing the world…
In 1946, Dr. Wilson wrote the seminal paper on what is now called Proton Therapy. His paper, titled “Radiological Use of Fast Protons,” outlined how fast proton beams could be used to treat cancer.

Proton Therapy has been used by radiation oncologist around the world to save countless lives.
